Week 2, Option 1: Hidden Hikes June 2nd-6th

This week we'll be heading off campus to explore Alaska's great hiking trails, from Hope to Palmer; it will be a week full of fun and adventure!  With experienced Waldorf Teacher and hiker, Ms. Herda, we'll spend the entire day away. Our aim will be to arrive back on campus by 4pm each day.  Some examples of hikes are - Palmer Lakes Trail and Hirshey Mine Trail, Hope Point Trail, Winner Creek Trail, Upper Winner Creek Trail, Whittier Creek Trail, Portage Pass Trailhead and Emerald Cove Trail.  In the other direction we may go up to Hatcher Pass and the Reed Lakes Trail or closer to home: Rabbit Lake Trail or South Fork Eagle River Trail.  We will consider the weather conditions and fitness of our group.  Good hiking shoes, appropriate rain gear, a water bottle or camelback/backpack will be required. The timing of this camp will be slightly longer than the others, so there's enough time to drive to and return from trailheads.  This camp will run from 8am-5pm.
